Drive Me Crazy is a 1999 romantic comedy based on the book Girl Gives Birth to Own Prom Date by Todd Strasser. Nicole (Melissa Joan Hart) and Chase (Adrian Grenier) have lived next door to each other for their entire lives. Both children of single parents, Nicole and Chase were inseparable for most of their youth. Now in their senior year of high school, the two childhood friends have drifted away from each other despite living in such close proximity. Nicole and Chase both thought they had their love lives under control with Nicole eying a star football player, and Chase dating a rebellious teen named Dulcie (Ali Larter). When neither relationship works out as planned, Nicole and Chase hatch a scheme to date each other in order to make their targets jealous. All of this is leading up to the big gala dance and Nicole and Chase have to realize what it is they really want out of love.
