Dudley Do-Right is the 1999 live action comedy based on the popular 1960s cartoon character. Canadian Mountie Dudley Do-Right (Brendan Fraser) protects Semi-Happy Valley with dedication, if not always intelligence. When Inspector Fenwick (Robert Prosky) gets a visit from his daughter Nell (Sarah Jessica Parker), Dudley would like nothing more than to get to know her better. Unfortunately Snidely Whiplash (Alfred Molina), Dudley's longtime nemesis, has returned to town with a new evil scheme. First he sends Dudley off on a wild goose chase after vampires. He buys up property throughout the village and then plants some gold nuggets in a nearby stream. Word spreads quickly of a gold rush, and Snidely profits from all the aspiring miners and quickly becomes the richest man in town, as well as the focus of Nell's attention. Meanwhile, Dudley loses his job, but not his determination to show the town that Snidely is a corrupt villain.
