Duffy's Irish Circus was released in 2006 and was written and directed by Gabriel Leif Ballman. He tells the story of a traditional circus company that has been in David Duffy's family for seven generations and will be for at least one more, as David has a three year-old son who is referred to as the "eighth generation." This circus only has one ring and is put on the old fashioned way. The family takes pride in doing everything just like previous generations have and keeping the old-fashioned show business feel alive is a priority for them. They don't have crews following them around for set up and break down, but they do it all themselves. Just like the mail, the Duffy's put on the circus in any kind of weather, be it windy with a bunch of rain or foggy with sight lines of only two feet. Go with them, as they visit every small city on their path in Ireland. Follow the family in this film through the hardships, struggles, but overwhelming joy that comes from their work.moreless
