PG-13
Duplex is a 2003 comedy directed by Danny DeVito. In the film, a New York couple, Alex (Ben Stiller) and Nancy (Drew Barrymore), think they have found the perfect home. The house is gorgeous and in an awesome neighborhood. The fact that the home is a duplex seems to be an added bonus for the couple. The couple purchase the home and agree to let the current upstairs tenant, Mrs. Connelly (Eileen Essell), live in the home. Soon, the couple's dream home turns into a nightmare when things do not turn out to be the way they imagined. The sweet little old lady tenant they agreed to rent to is not sweet at all. Now Alex and Nancy are faced with a dilemna. How do they get rid of the tenant and enjoy their dream home? When conventional forms of eviction don't work, the couple resort to more creative ways to enjoy their home.

  • 70

The New York Times Dana Stevens

A refreshingly mean-spirited gothic real estate comedy.

  • 50
