The Bluegrass Legend: Family & Friends is a 90 minute documentary highlighting the life and career of the talented banjo pickin' master, Earl Scruggs. Scruggs is well-known in the Bluegrass and Country music world for his masterful three finger banjo playing, which is now called 'Scrugg's Style' in his honor. This film touches on Scrugg's ability to cross the boundary between musical genres by showing performances with artist such as Bob Dylan, The Byrds, and The Norris Brothers. He stays true to his roots too, playing with friends Lester Flatt and Bill Monroe. The film is not just about the music, though. It is also about his personal life, even giving fans a rare glimpse of home videos, including one of Scrugg's son, Randy, walking to school as a child. Scruggs is a man of few spoken words, leaving most of his sentiments for his music, but in this film you will get to see a side of him that only his closet family and friends know.moreless
