Easy to Wed is a 1946 film that is a combination of comedy and romance, put into musical form. Willam Stevens Chandler (Van Johnson), his wife, and Connie Allenbury Chandler (Ester Williams) are the main characters in this film. William Chandler is a reporter for the "Morning Star" newspaper. There is a big story about a young woman who chases after married men and tries to break up the home. William is put on this case in order to expose her, but this woman, Connie, decides that she has been treated unjustly and wants to sue the newspaper. William is sent to prove this story to be true in order to defend the news story. Connie is a tough character and does not see that she is doing anything wrong or immoral. Connie simply follows her heart and does not think that her personal life should be exposed in the news. Will William be able to expose Connie or will she expose him to something he has never experienced?moreless
