Eddie Presely (Duane Whitaker) once owned a chain of successful pizzerias, which he sold in order to pursue his dream of becoming a well known Elvis impersonator. Now, he is just a mediocre security guard working in the questionable end of Hollywood and living in his van. When an incident at work costs him dearly, Eddie is desperate for a way out. When Doc (Roscoe Lee Brown), the owner and manager of a low-end bar in a seedy section of town, gives him a job, Eddie realizes this is probably his last chance. On the night of his first major performance, a major technical error leaves Eddie on stage without a plan, and left to fend for himself. He attempts to try to save the performance by baring his soul to the audience and improvising. What he creates is a one-man show that could take him straight to the top.
