Eddie is a comedy film that centers around Edwina "Eddie" Franklin (Whoopi Goldberg), limousine driver who is a die-hard fan of the New York Knicks. One night, Eddie attends a New York Knicks game in which she is given the chance to shoot a free throw shot in order to become an honorary assistant coach for the Knicks. She makes the shot and starts her job immediately. Eddie begins to get on the nerves of Coach John Bailey (Dennis Farina), even getting between an argument he is having with a referee. "Wild Bill" Burgess (Frank Langella), the new owner of the Knicks, admired Eddie's spunk and decides to name her as the new head coach. At first, Eddie is worried how she will do, but it soon becomes evident that she is a great coach. She even leads the team to the playoffs. But when Mr. Burgess makes a stunning admission, Eddie realizes everything she worked hard for may have been for nothing.moreless
