Edge of Sanity

Movie Summary

Director:
Gerard Kikoine
Released:
1989
Rating:
R
Edge of Sanity is a 1989 horror film directed by G'rard Kiko'ne. The film is a modern (circa the 80s) update to the classic Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde story. The film stars the legendary Anthony Perkins as the well respected physician Henry Jekyll. However Jekyll has been experimenting with cocaine (the drug of choice in the oh so exciting 1980s) and it pushes him over the edge. The cocaine releases his alter ego, the wild and uncontrollable Jack Hyde. The drug gives Hyde perverted nightmares and he goes on a murderous rampage in which he stalks and kills female prostitutes. Is he Jack the Ripper? The film came out and went away quickly and was heavily edited by the MPAA who thought it was a sick piece of trash. The film is crude and full of nudity and blood. It's worth a look to fans of strange 80s horror films.
