El Paso is a classic western that focuses on the famous Texas town that has turned into a state of chaos. The film follows a lawyer, Clay Fletcher (John Payne), who must travel to El Paso to get an important document signed by Judge Jeffers (Henry Hull) the father of his former love, Susan (Gail Russel). Upon his arrival he finds the Judge has been injured in a fall from a wagon, and the town is now in the hands of scoundrels. Without the Judge to maintain order, the crooked sheriff La Farge (Dick Foran) and the Saloon owner Bert Donner (Sterling Hayden) have taken control and wreaked havoc on the people of the town. Clay decides it is up to him to lay the law down and bring order back to the town. El Paso is a gripping western that is reminiscent of the classic westerns of the 40s.
