El Segundo is a 2004 fantasy/western film directed by Hank Jacobs. A wealthy Tejano rancher known as El Mayor (Pedro Armendariz, Jr.) has stumbled on the legend of a jewel that is said to grant eternal life. He decides to track it down for himself, at any cost. His quest, however, ends up causing problems for the community that depends on him. He hires Sam (Hank Jacobs), an oil rig worker, to track down the jewel, and along the way, Sam falls in love with El Mayor's daughter Delicia (Alana De La Gorza). Sam also discovers what possessing the jewel can really mean to all those involved. The film is heavily influenced by the Tejano culture, with a rich and extensive Tejano soundtrack and Carlos Guzman of Los Fabulosos Cuatro, a member of the Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame, co-stars as Don Pablo. It was also partially shot in Alice, Texas, "The Birthplace of Tejano Music".
