Movie Summary

Director:
Peter Weller
Released:
1997
Rating:
R
Elmore Leonard's Gold Coast is an psychological thriller about a mafia widow who inherits a large sum of money. Karen's (Marg Helgenberger) late husband Frank (Richard Bradford), a notorious crime boss, has left her a serious chunk of of change, under one condition; she must stay away from any other men. But being a wealthy woman makes that all the more difficult, as she and her money are soon pursued by Roland Crowe (Jeff Kober), a previous associate of her late husband. When Maguire (David Caruso), a former associate of Karen's husband tries to come collect on an unpaid debt, he finds a much more alluring sight in the recently widowed woman herself. Hoping to stay clear of trouble, Karen enlists his help to ward off Crowe, but in his efforts to keep Karen away from harm, Maguire could very well be getting too close himself to the rich, fair eyed widow. Peter Weller directs this suspenseful feature, adapted from the ever prevalent work of Elmore Leonard.moreless
