Elmo's Magic Cookbook is a 2001 direct-to-video special featuring the famed character from the popular Sesame Street series. When Elmo stumbles upon a magic cookbook while exploring the attic of the Carriage House, he and his friends are granted food related wishes by Jean the Genie. Jean can only materialize ingredients however, forcing Elmo and his friends to cook each of the recipes. Jean summons Emeril Lagasse, who shows them the best way to make pizza. Later Jean summons the Pocket Queen (Broadway's Heather Headley) who explains the idea of food pockets and teaches Elmo how to make Vietnamese summer rolls. The enchanted kitchen features sentient Muppet ingredients, which make jokes while being slowly cooked into Muppet friendly meals. In the end, the group enjoys homemade ice cream and celebrates a job well done with their friend Cookie Monster.
