After a team of scientists are dispatched to investigate the remnants of a meteor shower, they return controlled by a mysterious alien force. Meanwhile, nearby town residents are infected with the deadly "Crimson Plague." It's up to Dr. Curt Temple (Robert Hutton) to uncover the source of the invasion and rid the Earth of its unwelcome visitors. Halloween is synonymous with three things: linens with holes cut into them, candy corn that tastes like neither candy nor corn and, of course ... Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. In 1981, the B-movie queen (played to perfection by Cassandra Peterson) began her campaign to bring only the very best-and worst-of schlock cinema to audiences. The result was Elvira's Movie Macabre, a television series that featured a different film, infused with Elvira's own twist of humor and innuendo, each week.
