Emperor of the North is a 1973 action film revolving around corrupt railroad conductor, Shack (Ernest Borgnine). He has resentment toward hobos and vows to forcibly remove any that get on his train. Hobos A-No. 1 (Lee Marvin) and Cigaret (Keith Carradine) manage to sneak onto Shack's train. When Shack learns of their arrival, A-No. 1 escapes, but Cigaret is caught. As Shack corners Cigaret, threatening to kill him, he gets word that A-No.1 has vowed to become the first hobo to ride his train. A-No. 1 and Cigaret do get off of the train, but hop on another passenger train. The two hobos get off the passenger train in Salem, Oregon and wait for Shack's train to arrive. When the train arrives, they hop back on it and begin to play tricks on Shack with the help of other hobos. To find out if Shack is able to get rid of A-No. 1 and Cigaret once and for all, watch Emperor of the North.
