Employee of the Month is a 2004 black comedy that shows exactly how much can go wrong in a single day. David (Matt Dillon) is content with his life. He's engaged to the lovely and supportive Sara (Christina Applegate), manages a bank and has a close friend in Jack (Steve Zahn). In one day, all David's good fortune is suddenly and dramatically reversed. Sarah leaves him because of his affair with a coworker, Wendy (Andrea Bendewald), and David is fired from his job despite his positive performance. With his life in shambles, David's former good judgement seems to disappear. He returns to the bank, this time carrying a gun. Things turn even darker when it turns out the bank is already being held at gunpoint, and when David tries to defend his coworker Wendy, something terrible happens. In the midst of the worst day ever, it may turn out that David is not as unlucky as he thinks.
