Enemy of the Law is a 1945 western directed by Harry L. Fraser. Charles Gray (Charles King), an outlaw who stole and buried a box of U.S. Army gold, is about to be released from prison. In order to find out the location of the gold before Charles goes free, Texas ranger Panhandle Perkins (Guy Wilkerson) infiltrates the jail and poses as Charles's new cellmate. While Panhandle is sleeping one night, Charles, who is afraid that somebody will find his map to the treasure, makes a sketch of the map on the bottom of Panhandle's foot. When Panhandle is paroled, he takes Charles to meet the rest of his outlaw gang, Steve Martin (Jack Ingram), Red (Frank Ellis) and Mike (Kermit Maynard). As the criminals make plans to dig up the buried gold, Panhandle and his fellow rangers, Dave (Dave O'Brien) and Tex (Tex Ritter), conspire to find the treasure first and bring the outlaws to justice.
