Ernest Goes to School stars Jim Varney in the classic comedy as Ernest P. Worrell. Written and Directed By Coke Sams of the successful 'Ernest' series, the movie follows Ernest as he tries to go back to school and get his diploma. Having never graduated highschool and working as a Janitor, he finds himself in hot water as the school board enacts a new rule that requires all employees to have a minimum of a High-School diploma education for employment. Wanting to hold on to his job, he decides to go back to school and finish, but he quickly realizes that he cannot make the grade and finds himself failing, until two science teachers approach him to test out their newest experiment - The Brain Accelerator. Overnight, he becomes one of the smartest students at the school, which later inflates his ego to the point where he becomes a snobbish, arrogant jerk, which alienates him from his friends. However, he realizes that he is on the fast-tack to graduating at the top of his class and he will be able to keep his job.moreless
