Escanaba In Da Moonlight is a comedy, poking fun at hunting traditions and traditions in general. It is set in Escanaba, Michigan, where Reuben Soady (Jeff Daniels) is forced to go hunting one last time with his father, Albert (Harve Presnell) and his two brothers, Remnar (Joey Albright) and Jimmy (Wayne David Parker). They warn him that if he fails to shoot and kill a deer by the end of hunting season, he will be the oldest Soady to have grown up without killing a deer. His father claims that this will bring shame upon him and his family, who are very respected in the ranks of Escanaba's hunters. The other hunters already believe that Ruben is jinxed and refuse to associate with him until he can break this curse. With a bit of luck and maybe some help from beyond the grave, Ruben needs to kill his deer and prove himself to his family and everyone else in the community.moreless
