Escape to Grizzly Mountain is the time-traveling tale of Jimmy (Miko Hughes), a young boy who finds a magic cave in the woods, one that allows its inhabitants to travel through time. While spending the day at the circus with friends, Jimmy is horrified by the vicious bear trainer and sickened by his treatment of a bear cub. When a circus employee tells Jimmy of the secret cave, he rushes to find it, hoping to somehow use the cave to save the circus bear. When the cave transports him to the early 1800s, Jimmy meets Jeremiah (Dan Haggerty), a wild, wooly mountain man with a pet bear. Jimmy is sure he's found the one man who will help the tortured bear cub. Doubtful of Jimmy's wild story, Jeremiah nevertheless agrees to return to the 20th century with the boy, promising to help him free the circus bears from the clutches of the evil trainer.
