2007
Rating:
PG-13
Evening is a 2007 emotionally-stirring drama starring Glenn Close, Toni Collette, Vanessa Redgrave, Natasha Richardson, Meryl Streep, Claire Danes, and Patrick Wilson, to name a few. The film is based on a book written in 1998 by Susan Minot. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Cunningham adapted the book to screen. Hungarian filmmaker Lajos Koltai directs. Ann Grant (Vanessa Redgrave/Claire Daines) is accompanied by her two daughters, Constance (Natasha Richardson) and Nina (Toni Collette), as she lays in bed and combats terminal illness. When she reflects on life, she recalls the time she met her one true love - a man named Harris Arden (Patrick Wilson). She narrates the story of their relationship together, which took place 50 years in the past. As a result, the viewer shifts back and forth in time. Ann's story leaves a strong impression on her girls, which inspires them to make changes in their own lives. With a cast as exceptional as the one included in this film, what is not to love?moreless
