Everest: A Climb For Peace is a documentary piece based on the 2006 climb by the Everest Peace Project. The Everest Peace Project promotes peace and global understanding by organizing groups that wish to scale some of Earth's tallest mountains. This film chronicles the 2006 ascent by Palestinian Ali Bushnaq and Israelis Dudu Yifrah and Micha Yaniv. In one of the most inhospitable environments on the planet, these men from painfully different backgrounds worked together for a common goal. Not only were they able to climb to the top of the world's highest mountain, but they were also able to communicate that humankind is capable of great things. The only prerequisite to such accomplishments is setting aside petty differences. Orlando Bloom narrates this inspirational film that was hailed as a "tremendous achievement" by the Dalai Lama. This documentary was shot on location in Nepal, Tibet, Israel, Palestine, and the United States and features some of the most vivid footage of Mt. Everest ever recorded. Lance Trumbull directs this 2007 film.moreless
