Everest: IMAX is gripping 70mm documentary film that shows just what it takes to scale the largest mountain on the planet. The film was made during the 199 Mount Everest disaster in which a group of hikers were brutally stranded on it's dangerous peaks. The film documents these people as well as the camera crews attempts to help them survive and get back down the mountain. This film is a startling look at both the mental and physiological demands that Everest places on the human body. See fist hand the dangers of lack of oxygen, freezing cold temperatures, freak avalanches, and stifling blizzards. For the first time, audiences get to witness one of the most beautiful and dangerous environments in stunning IMAX clarity. Feel like you are there with the panoramic and dwarfing imagery that only 70mm film can offer. The film itself was released in 1998 and met with great success. The documentary grossed more than $86 million during its theatrical run. The film is narrated by actor Liam Neeson.moreless
