Evolver follows a teenage prodigy, Kyle Baxter (Ethan Embry), and his endeavors into cyberspace. After beating a video game called Evolver, developed by Dr. Russel Bennet (John de Lancie), he is given a chance to compete in a live competition of the same game. What makes Evolver unique is that the computer can modify its own source code and learns as the game progresses. Things become tricky when Kyle wins the competition and gets a life size Evolver robot as a prize. Unfortunately this robot is programmed to learn, just like in the game and is a military prototype, armed with weapons and munitions. It will stop at nothing to win the competition under any circumstances, and is capable of upgrading its own equipment. Kyle must use his wits and intelligence to outsmart the Evolver and save the lives of himself and his friends. This 1995 film is directed and written by Mark Rossman.
