Extraordinary Measures is a medical drama based on a true story. John Crowly (Breden Fraser) and Aileen Crowly's (Keri Russel) children have Pompe disease. The disease kills before a child's tenth birthday. John contacts Robert Stonehill (Harrison Ford), known for innovative research related to the disease, with hopes that the man can find a cure. However, Stonehill is low on funds and has a difficult personality which drives people away. John and Aileen step up to the task to raise money for Stonehill's research, as well as working with venture capitalists and another research team. As all this happens, the children keep getting sicker as the disease slowly kills them. Then John comes up against the issue that even if a drug to cure the disease is found, it might not be sufficiently profitable enough to be marketable. Will the parents be able to save their children, or will it be a lost cause?moreless
