Extreme Justice is a 1993 action film directed by Mark L Lester. The film follows policeman Jeff Powers (Lou Diamond Phillips) who is suspended by the Los Angeles police department for harsh tactics. Powers is recruited by a secret division within the department that functions outside the law. The Special Investigations Section, as the unit is called, focuses on repeat offenders. The unit's official mission is to catch offenders in the act of committing a crime. Unofficially, the Special Investigations section is a government sanctioned death squad that tracks down and kills criminals, regardless of their guilt or innocence. When Powers begins to question the mission of the unit, he learns the hard way that powerful people are supporting the unit. Now the Special Investigations Section led by Dan Vaughn (Scott Glenn) is determined to stop him from exposing the truth. Fans of police drama and action thrillers alike will enjoy the non-stop action of Extreme Justice.
