Eye for an Eye is a 1996 dramatic thriller directed by John Schlesinger. Karen McCann (Sally Field) is a mother distraught after the brutal rape and murder of her daughter Julie (Oliva Burnette). Despite overwhelming evidence that Robert Doob (Kiefer Sutherland) is the man responsible, an error in the courts results in Doob walking free. While Karen's husband Mack (Ed Harris) seeks to return to some sense of normalcy in their lives, Karen cannot help becoming obsessed with Doob, to the point of stalking him. Upon learning of local parents in similar circumstances taking it upon themselves to seek justice, Karen begins to train in gunplay and self-defense. However, Doobs is not unaware of Karen's pursuit, and turns the tables, threatening the remaining memebers of Karen's family. Terrified and seeking justice for the horrors inflicted upon her family, Karen begins laying the groundwork for a deadly trap that will remove the threat of Doob from her life forever.
