Face Off is a movie for die-hard hockey fans. It is the story of hockey player Billy Duke (Art Hindle) and his struggle to maintain an impossible relationship in the macho world of professional hockey. In his rookie year with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Billy falls for Sherry Nelson (Trudy Young), a pop singer with the band, New Generation. They come from two different worlds -- Billy from the tough, macho world of fans, workouts and drinking, and Sherry from a world of soft lighting, catchy tunes and dance. Their friends disapprove of the relationship and continuously try to pull the two lovers apart. This only serves to bring Billy and Sherry closer together. They forsake their friends and promise one another to preserve the relationship at all costs. Soon, however, each of their worlds begins to weigh down on them. Sherry falls in with drugs and Billy becomes an alcoholic. Their only chance at recovering from their destructive habits and coming out on top is each other.moreless
