Faithless is a 2000 film that is directed by Liv Ullmann and based on the script written by Ingmar Bergman, who suggests the story is based on his own personal experience. In the film, Bergman (Erland Josephson) is writing a book about infidelity and invites a woman, Marianna Vogler (Lena Endre), to his remote home to share her life stories with him. She tells the tale of what she considered a perfect family with her husband Markus (Thomas Hanzon), who is an orchestra conductor and her daughter Isabelle (Michelle Gloom). Despite this so-called perfect life, Marianna finds herself having an affair with movie director, David (Krister Henriksson). This affair threatens to ruin her relationship with her husband and her daughter. Bergman is sure to take in every detail of Marianna's story so he can use this information to write his story. He also finds himself becoming rather attached to Marianna's story and he may actually be on the verge of losing his sanity.moreless
