Falling is the 2005 slice-of-life drama. The story recounts the slowly unfolding tale of Carl Lazarus (Sean Souza). Carl feels guilty after learning that the small time crook who died to save his life, leaves behind a wife and child. Carl locates the dead man's family, and begins a new life as a surrogate father and husband to the tragedy struck family. The film's theme suggests several intelligent and thought-provoking questions. Can you live another's life? Can you live another's life better than you live your own? Is regular life an illusion? Falling, produced by Bean Films, is an independently created film shot in New York's inner city, one of the busiest stages of the world. The actors' consistently high work, as well as the great directing by Clayton Allis make this film a delight to watch, and will keep you at the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Metacritic Score

  • 75

    TV Guide Maitland McDonagh

Charging Albert's film with looking too much like an American chick flick is to give it short shrift: For all the drinking, dancing and group hugs, by the end of their 36-hour trip...

  • 60

The New York Times Manohla Dargis

It's a theme as familiar as life. The five women, all perfectly cast and almost perfectly played.

    New York Post V.A. Musetto

Albert elicits good performances from her cast, but she fails to give viewers reason to care about their characters.
