Movie Summary

Director:
Kevin Tancharoen
Released:
2009
Rating:
PG
Fame is a musical film directed by Kevin Tancharoen adapted from the 1980 film and its subsequent spin-offs, including a TV series and a stage musical, which follows a group of students through their four years at the New York High School of Performing Arts. In a school where creativity is at its peak, eight students ' Kevin (Paul McGill), Alice (Kherington Payne), Jenny (Kay Panabaker), Victor (Walter Perez), Denise (Naturi Naughton), Marco (Asher Book), Joy (Anna Maria Perez de Tagle), and Malik (Collins Pennie) ' work hard to navigate their respective dreams in dance, acting, and music in order to potentially gain that elusive fame. For Kevin and Alice, all they wanted to do was dance though the teachers think very little of Kevin's skills. Somewhat naive Jenny struggles with the dark side of ambition just as Denise goes against the pressures of her classical minded parents to become a singer, not a pianist. Fame, after all, is about holding on to your dream, no matter what.moreless
