Movie Summary

Director:
Tim Story
Released:
2007
Rating:
PG

As Reed and Sue prepare for their wedding, a massive entity crashes into the atmosphere causing deep craters and fluctuations across Earth. The team soon learn that this new alien object is the Silver Surfer, a being with the powers of molecular restructuring and interstellar travel. The Silver Surfer's arrival also causes the revival of Victor Von Doom, and though Von Doom tries to establish a deal with the Silver Surfer, Von Doom is rebuffed. As the Fantastic Four and Von Doom team up to stop the Silver Surfer's destructive wrath, Sue Storm learns that the Silver Surfer is merely a pawn in the grand scheme, and the true threat lies elsewhere.

Earnest, gee-whiz and foursquare, this simple and intentionally inoffensive sequel gets points for being easy to take and scrupulously avoiding obvious sources of irritation.

This existentially and aesthetically unnecessary sequel to the equally irrelevant if depressingly successful "Fantastic Four."
