Far Out Man is the story of a hippie stuck in time. Far Out Man (Tommy Chong) is a musician who was totally happy during the 60s. He actually thinks it is still the late 60s and that Woodstock just happened. He lives in Hippieland which is a Disneyland for hippies. Far Out Man has been in Hippeieland since the early 60s. One day he decides he wants to reconnect with his family who he hasn't seen for years. Far Out Man steps out the door and beholds the city of Los Angeles. He is amazed at how much has changed in just 40 years. He tries to get used to modern-day America. Far Out Man then gets in a car and travels across the country to find his family. There are guest appearances by Tommy Chong's family, and an appearance by Cheech Marin as himself. Tommy Chong is also the writer and director of this 1990 comedy.
