Movie Summary

Catherine Breillat
Fat Girl is a 2001 French film that originally came out under the title A Ma Soeur! The film revolves around the sibling rivalry of sisters Elena (Roxane Mesquida) and Anais (Anais Reboux). On holiday, the beautiful and flirtatious 15 year old Elena meets an Italian boy, Fernando (Libero De Rienzo) intent on seducing her. At first Elena agrees to let him have her virginity, but backs out at the last minute. Fernando continues to pressure her until she finally agrees to have anal sex as proof of her love. All the while, Elena's fat 12 year old sister, Anais, watches from her bed. The following day Fernando gives Elena an opal ring and she agrees to give him her virginity. As Fernando and Elena make love that night, Anais cries quietly in the corner of the room. The next day Fernando's mother demands the Opal ring, which Fernando had taken from her, back. With the holiday over, Elena, Anais and their mother head back to Paris. Stopping at a rest stop on their way back, their lives are changed for ever when an unexpected event turns out to be worse than anything they could imagine.moreless
