PG-13

Fatal Instinct is a 1993 comedy film that is a spoof on a number of late 1980s and early 1990s suspense thrillers and murder mysteries, like "9 1/2 Weeks", "Basic Instinct", "Cape Fear", "Fatal Attraction", and "The War of the Roses". Ned Ravine (Armand Assante) is a police officer-slash-lawyer who thinks of himself as an expert on women. He meets the mysterious and gorgeous Lola Cain (Sean Young) while on a stake-out and she asks him to look over some paperwork for her. When he goes to her place to help her out, they end up sharing a night of wild passion together. Meanwhile, Ned's wife Lana (Kate Nelligan) and her mechanic lover Frank (Christopher McDonald) plot to kill Ned for his life insurance money. Max Shady is released from prison as well, and he wants to kill Ned too because he blames him for his conviction. When Ned goes to a legal symposium out of town, will he be coming home after it is over?
