Field of Dreams is about an Iowa corn farmer named Ray Kinsella who is on the brink of losing everything. He can't afford to pay his mortgage and his money problems are causing issues at home with his wife and child. One night Ray starts to hear voices, voices he is convinced he can't ignore. The voices tell him "If you build it, they will come." Ray is convinced this means build a baseball diamond, so he does. Everyone thinks he's crazy, but as soon as he's done building the field, the long gone Chicago Black Sox appear out of his corn fields to play baseball. Astounded by this, Ray uses the new found miracle to save his house by charging admission to the spectacle. With the help of a reclusive author, Ray tries to figure out just what was the purpose of this miracle bestowed upon him.
