Fierce People is a 2005 drama about the tribal conventions of the super rich, starring Anton Yelchin, Diane Lane, Donald Sutherland, Kristen Stewart. Yelchin plays sixteen-year-old Finn Earl, a young man who feels out of place in New York City and longs to travel to South America where his father studies the Ishkanami Indians known as the Fierce People. Finn has never met his father, an anthropologist whose work kept him from meeting his son. Finn's mother, Liz (Diane Lane), is kind and loving, but she struggles with a difficult drug addiction. When Finn gets arrested during a desperate attempt to help her, Liz decides it's time for a change. They move into the expansive estate of Liz's former client, Ogden C. Osbourne (Donald Sutherland). Now, Finn may get the anthropological experience he yearned for, stranded in the bizarre world of the extreme upper class. Stewart plays Maya, Osbourne's beautiful granddaughter whose affections give Finn hope during his strange summer among the Fierce People.moreless
