Fighting Back is the tale of John D'Angelo (Tom Skerritt), a deli owner, who has lived and worked in Philadelphia for most of his life. His beautiful wife Lisa D'Angelo (Patti LuPone) stays by his side as he angrily watches as his hometown becomes overrun with crime and violence. D'Angelo decides he has had enough after one particularly bloody crime, and gets together a group of like-minded citizens to take out the criminal trash that has taken over his streets. However, D'Angelo and his gang step on the toes of the local justice, as well as the organized criminal underbelly of the city. As his actions grow just as violent as the crimes that he sought to protect his city from, he gains more notoriety amongst the public. His family begins to pull away from him, and he must choose what is more important: his wife and children, or his new quest for justice.
