Film Geek is the story of nerdy video store clerk, Scotty Pelk (Melik Malkasion), who struggles to find confidence and success among his peers. Scotty's obsessive film-talk is annoying to his co-workers and downright irritating to the video store's customers. But after he meets Niki (Tyler Gannon), a friendly girl that doesn't seem to mind his encyclopedic knowledge of all things Hollywood, Scotty thinks he's found a soul mate. Then he's fired from the job he loves, and the movie buff website he hoped would be a new source of income isn't getting any traffic. Niki and Scotty start dating, attending a party where Scotty meets two like-minded film fans. Scotty soon learns that his relationship with Niki was a ruse, and she's been seeing him just to make her boyfriend jealous. But all is not yet lost. When the two guys at the party tell a local newspaper about Scotty's website, his obsessive love for film might turn him into a celebrity. And that boost of confidence could be just what he needs to win back the girl of his dreams.moreless
