2001
Rating:

Final is a science fiction film directed by Campbell Scott that centers on Bill (Denis Leary) as a man just woken up from a coma to find himself in a psychiatric hospital. Completely unaware of what happened to lead him into a coma, Bill starts to have delusions about his life and his placement within the hospital. Believing to be unfrozen in the future to be executed, Bill begins to work with his psychiatrist Ann (Hope Davis) to uncover the true trauma. Bill starts to remember his former life in flashbacks of his father's death and his drunken binges that led to a car crash. Though he has his moments of lucidity, the man switches between calmness and rants of the future in a world seeking his death for scientific use. As Bill continues to get better, his delusions continue to run rampant as he begins to piece together the truth.
