Final Analysis (1992) is a dark neo-noir psychological thriller directed by Phil Janou. The story focuses on eminent Freudian psychiatrist Dr. Isaac Baar (Richard Gere) and his relationship with troubled patient Diana Baylor (Uma Thurman). Diana is struggling with painful and traumatic childhood experiences and has suppressed memories involving her alcoholic father and his horrific death in a fire. Dr. Baar meets with Diana's sister Heather Evans ( Kim Basinger) in an attempt to find out more information about Diana's childhood and to see if Heather can recall any crucial memories that Baylor has forgotten. Dr. Baar and Heather soon begin a steamy, passionate love affair. The affair places both of them is grave danger as Heather is married to the sadistic Jimmy Evans (Eric Roberts), a violent gangster with a long criminal history.
