Final Approach tells the story of an Air Force pilot, Col. Jason Halsey (James Sikking), who was in a terrible accident and can not seem to remember what exactly happened to him or even who he is. His psychiatrist, Dr. Dio Gottlieb (Hector Elizondo), attempts to help him recover all of his memories, but his intentions are questionable at best. They work together throughout the movie in order to regain Col. Jason Halsey's memory. Most of the film is centered on these two characters and their journey through the mind. The film offers good light entertainment that most anyone can enjoy and even brings up some good points about memory loss. James Sikking and Hector Elizondo play off of each other very well in their respected roles. The film was produced by Filmquest Pictures and Trimark Pictures. It was directed and written by Eric Steven Stahl and was released in 1991.
