Final Destination is a supernatural thriller that follows Death as it goes after a group of teens that escaped an explosion that should have left them dead. Alex Browning (Devon Sawa) is getting ready to board a trans-Atlantic flight with his classmates for a school trip to France. After boarding the flight, he gets a vision of the plane bursting into flames just after take-off. He tries to convince the airline personnel something is wrong but his pleas fall on deaf ears. He exits the plane along with Clear Rivers (Ali Larter), Tod Waggner (Chad Donella), teacher Valerie Lewton (Kristen Cloke), Carter Horton (Kerr Smith), Terry Chaney (Amanda Detmer), and Billy Hitchcock (Seann William Scott). When the plane explodes moments after taking off, the FBI focuses their attention on Alex. Soon, the survivors start dying in more and more bizarre ways and the FBI is the least of Alex's worries. Mortician William Bludworth (Tony Todd) tells the teens death is tying up loose ends and taking everyone meant to die on the plane. James Wong directs the 2000 horror film, which won the Saturn Award for Best Horror Film. The film launched the Final Destination franchise, which has spawned three sequels and one prequel.
