Five Corners is a 1987 romantic drama directed by Tony Bill which presents an unusual story of crime and twisted romance in the 1967 Bronx region of New York. Heinz (John Turturro) is a mentally unstable man with frequent psychotic episodes during which he pictures himself in a passionate relationship with a charming woman named Linda (Jodie Foster). After a failed attempt to rape her when Linda is saved by kind and brave Harry (Tim Robbins), Heinz is arrested and sent to prison. Several years later he is released back to freedom and tries to reestablish his nonexistent relationship with Linda. He calls and asks her on a date in a local park. Because Harry has joined a pacifist group that promotes non-violence, he is in no position to protect Linda again. She agrees to meet with Heinz knowing that a rejection may provoke another psychotic episode. The strange date does not go as Heinz planned it in his chaotic mind so Linda is in danger again.moreless
