Five Guns West is an action western that features elaborate schemes, promises of freedom and of course plenty of double-crossing. Five outlaws have been sentenced to die, but when an opportunity arises to win back their freedom, they jump at the chance. A Confederate officer offers the convicts a full pardon, if they complete a daring mission that involves theft and kidnapping. A stage coach en route from California is arriving in Dawn Springs, Kansas. The outlaws must beat the stage-coach to its destination, steal the gold on board and capture Confederate traitor Stephan Jethro (Jack Ingram). As if that was not difficult enough, they'll have to venture through hostile Indian Territory to get there, then face off against the lovely but conniving Shalee (Dorothy Malone) and her gun-toting, alcoholic uncle Mike (James Stone). Can the criminals overcome the obstacles in front of them, or will they end up dead either way? This 1955 film was Roger Corman's directorial debut and was released by MGM Studios.moreless
