Flaming Feather paints the precarious tale of an Arizona outlaw known as the Sidewinder (Victor Jory). He is notorious for marauding various ranches in the area with his entourage of Ute Indians. When Tex McCloud (Sterling Hayden), a cowboy and upright citizen, falls victim to one of the Sidewinder's ruthless attacks he swears a vendetta against him. Tex's thirst for revenge takes him on a merciless chase to unmask the Sidewinder and bring his band of outlaws to justice. He is not alone though, for he has the full help and backing of the Army, primarily Sgt. O'Rourke (Edgar Buchanan). This film also delves into the genre of romance as Tex begins to fall for a beautiful young woman, Nora Logan (Barbara Rush). This 1952 western climaxes in a large-scale shootout on a mountain. Other cast and characters include Lt. Tom Blaine (Forrest Tucker), Carolina (Arleen Whelan), and Doc Fallon (George Cleveland).
