Flaming Star is a western drama with an all-star cast portraying a town's fight against their prejudices after Indians attack their village. Pacer (Elvis Presley) is a half-breed. He lives with his Indian mother Nedy (Dolores Del Rio), his white father Clint (Steve Forrest), and white grandfather Sam Burton (John McIntire) on a farm near a Texas town. The village accepts Pacer as a white man, but he has a strong connection to his Indian heritage. After the Union army attacks a Kiowa tribe, the Indians retaliate by raiding the town and nearby wagon trains. The townspeople confront Clint and Pacer and accuse them of working with the Kiowa. The Burton family convinces the angry mob that they are innocent. To complicate things even more, Pacer falls in love with the mayor's daughter, Roslyn (Barbra Eden). The Kiowa attack Pacer's home while he and his dad go to town for some supplies. The Indians kill Needy and Sam. The father and son bury their kin and now must decide whether to take sides with a town that hates them or the Indians who want to kill them.
