Flashbacks of a Fool is a 2008 drama directed by Baillie Walsh. Joe Scott (Daniel Craig) is a wealthy actor, living in Hollywood, who has spent a majority of his wealth on alcohol, sex and drugs. His lifestyle has led the once gorgeous actor to become a prematurely-aged actor that no one, including his manager, wants to work around. One morning, a hungover Joe gets a phone call from his mother in England informing him that his childhood friend, Boots (Max Deacon), has died. The death was sudden and Joe's mom wants him to come home to England for the funeral. The news of Boots' sudden death leads to a series of flashbacks from Joe's childhood that tell the story of how this selfish, self-destructive man became who he is today. Joe wants to travel home and see if it is still possible to seek redemption for mistakes he made in his youth.
