Flesheater is a 1988 zombie horror film created by Night of the Living Dead legend Bill Hinzman. A group of young students decide to have a Halloween party in the secluded depths of a local forest. They pay the farmer who runs the property to drive them to a nice spot away from the chaos of the city. The evening starts off a smashing success, as the young couples drink and talk until dark, when they separate so the pairs of lovers can have some alone time. Meanwhile, the farmer has discovered a rotted tree stump in the woods. He uses the tractor to pull the dead wood out of the ground, and as the heavy stump slides away, a long coffin is revealed buried in the soil. Despite an ancient seal warning against opening the box, the farmer pries the lid off and releases an ancient evil that will stop at nothing to kill everything in its path. Bill Hinzman played the cemetery zombie in the horror classic Night of the Living Dead, and in Flesheater he returns to zombie horror as actor, director, producer, writer, and editor.moreless
