Fools Rush In is a touching and humorous 1997 romantic comedy directed by Andy Tennent. After waking up alone the morning after his passionate one night stand with Isabel Fuentes (Salma Hayek), Alex Whitman (Matthew Perry) was sure he'd never see the fiery Mexican beauty again. When he learns Isabel is pregnant with his child, though, the repressed New Yorker impulsively proposes. A quickie Vegas wedding makes them man and wife, but they soon realize a marriage is far more work than a wedding. As they struggle to make their fledgling relationship work, Alex and Isabel encounter multiple roadblocks. Alex's uptight mother, Nan Whitman (Jill Clayburgh) doesn't bother to hide her disdain for her son's new wife. Isabel's family drives Alex insane with their meddling ways. With more differences than similarities, it isn't long before culture and personality clashes make them wonder if they've made the biggest mistake of their lives.
